The 3DEXPERIENCE platform offers both on-premise and cloud-based deployment options, each with distinct features to suit various organizational needs. Choosing between on-premise and cloud deployment depends on factors such as data sensitivity, regulatory requirements, IT capabilities, and the need for customization. Organizations should assess their specific needs to determine the most suitable deployment strategy.

3DEXPERIENCE On-Premise

  • Data Control and Security: Deploying on-premise allows organizations to maintain full control over their data, ensuring compliance with specific regulatory requirements or internal policies.
  • Customization: On-premise installations offer greater flexibility for software customization and tailored configurations to meet specific business processes.
  • IT Infrastructure: This option requires investment in hardware and IT resources for installation, maintenance, and updates.
  • Offline Access: Users can access data and applications without relying on internet connectivity, ensuring continuity in case of network issues.

3DEXPERIENCE On Cloud

  • Scalability and Flexibility: The cloud-based platform allows for easy scaling of resources based on demand, accommodating business growth without significant upfront investments in hardware.
  • Accessibility: Users can access the platform from anywhere with an internet connection, facilitating remote work and global collaboration.
  • Reduced IT Overhead: Dassault Systèmes manages infrastructure maintenance, security, and updates, reducing the burden on internal IT teams.
  • Continuous Updates: The cloud platform receives regular updates, ensuring users have access to the latest features without manual intervention.

THE PRODTEX 3DX ON-PREMIS EXPRESS PACKAGE

Prodtex has developed a OnPremis package, which is very easy to deploy. No particular IT-expertice is necessary to deploy. Just un-zip the package and run. This will enable smaler enterprises, such as Tier-1 suppliers to work collaboratively with their OEM customers by having the same release and fix-pack on 3DEXPERIENCE. Prodtex can also prepare the OnPremis server so it has the same database extensions as the OEM customer, which means the attributes used for BOM lists are available and can be filled in before sending the data back to OEM.

  • The 3Dx EXPRESS package enables smaller enterprises, such as Tier-1 suppliers to have their own OnPreims 3DEXPERIENCE platform locally in their own premises.
  • Tier-1 suppliers who wants to be compatible with OEM cannot use the 3DEXPERIENCE on the Cloud!
  • “OEM-compatible” means the suppliers are using the same version of 3DEXPERIENCE as the OEM
  • In order for Supplier to work seamless, using 3Dx
    – they have to use the same release level as the OEM
  • OEMs have to use On-Premis:
    • using cloud would not work, since cloud is upgraded to next release every November
    • they have many attributes in the BOM lists. These cannot be created on the cloud package of 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • The Suppliers need their own onpremis installation
    – this is normally very complex to setup and govern for a supplier
  • Prodtex provides virtual 3DExperience servers for any release-level and any fixpack
    • we call this packaging The 3Dx EXPRESS Package
  • The 3Dx EXPRESS package are very easy to deploy and govern
    • just un-zip and go!
  • After projects are finished suppliers will export lines/cells/equipment as 3DXMLs and store them on their network
    • if needed in future project, just import it to the new server. No data conversion.
    • 3DXML is a pack-and-go concept to transfer data between platforms without loosing any integirty of data.
  • The Tier-1 Package can offcourse be used by any company, but it is an ideal package for Tier-1 suppliers

The 3Dx EXPRESS Package is your own OnPremis locally in your own facilities

The 3Dx EXPRESS Package enables your local 3DEXPERIENCE ecosystem

  • OEMs probably want Tier-1’s to work on the OEM server but!
    • you might now want to share all your IP to the OEM – only the necessary IP for the project, not all your standards
    • you might have many Tier-2’s that you want to mange locally; hence to invite to your own premis, not the OEM.
  • Suppliers can have different 3DEXPERIENCE servers for different projects
    • A Tier-1 supplier is normally more project-centric compared to OEMs, which means once a project is completed you deliver to OEM customer and archieve 3DXML in a file system. It is not likely the data is used in future projects
    • Standard libraries are exported to 3DXML and ready for future project on new 3DEXPERIENCE servers
  • Different OEMs will most likely have different release levels, different fixpack requirements
  • Different OEMs will most likely have different customizations, such as attributes used in BOM lists that needs to be filled in.
  • Suppliers might want to use one server for each project even if it is for the same customer.
    • The oppurtunies are endless!

Use one OnPremis for different customers, different projects with different release levels
