Duties and skills of the Digital Manufacturing engineer
Based out of our Bristol office the successful candidate will use their expertise to perform production planning analysis and optimization, generate digital twins, perform virtual commissioning, complete ergonomics analysis and optimize components through generative techniques.
As a consultant with us, your role will span from pre-sales to the delivery phase of the project. Responsibilities include meetings with potential customers, as well as preparation and delivery of technical presentations. You will also be expected to continuously develop your industrial expertise and knowledge in 3DEXPERIENCE in line with the latest innovations. You will be challenging the status quo and identifying better ways of working for the industry.
This work will be performed using the Delmia 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
The successful Digital Manufacturing engineer:
- Be confident and competent in 3D modelling (CATIA, SolidWorks or similar)
- Have aerospace, automotive, construction, or manufacturing industry experience
- Have experience with production or process planning
- Have an interest in advanced manufacturing & Industry 4
- Be driven and passionate around manufacturing digitalization
- Be confident and willing to learn
- Fluent in English for both speaking and writing
- We are open-minded about what the ideal Prodtex Digital Manufacturing engineer looks like, but would love to see:
- Experience with Dassault Systèmes Software (3DEXPERIENCE, Catia V5, SolidWorks)
- An understanding of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)
- Generation of digital MBOM & EBOM
- Digital work instructions
- Discrete event simulation
- DMU management
- Equipment design
- Kinematics
- Project Engineer
- Practical engineering experience
- Master / Bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field
- Working towards or achieved professional accreditation
We prefer that you are an engineer with multiple years of relevant work experience, however university graduates will also be considered for the role.

Team Member: Mary Samuel
Background: I completed my MSc in Manufacturing Technology and Management at Cranfield University, where I built a strong foundation in advanced manufacturing.
Passion for engineering: I’ve always been fascinated by how vehicles are made. From raw materials to complex, high-performance machines. That curiosity led me into manufacturing, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to be part of a team that’s focused on improving efficiency and productivity in the manufacturing process
Why Prodtex? Joining Prodtex has been a fantastic journey. From day one, the team has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. Their guidance has helped me grow both technically and professionally, allowing me the opportunity to work on some amazing projects and develop into a well-rounded engineer.
Skillset: I work with digital manufacturing tools like ENOVIA, DELMIA, and CATIA, and apply project management skills to coordinate tasks and drive successful project outcomes.
What are your goals at Prodtex? I’m currently focused on deepening my expertise in DELMIA and ENOVIA. I’m excited about the opportunity to take on more innovative and challenging projects that push the boundaries of digital manufacturing.

Background: Experienced design engineer working within the Automotive and Aerospace sectors for +20 years.
Passion for engineering: Ever since I was young I have always had an interest in finding out how things work, or finding a solutions to solve a problem. I followed my passion into engineering and have worked on lots of interesting projects from Cars to Planes. Now working at Prodtex I get to apply my knowledge to advance manufacturing solutions, exploring Robotics, 3D printing, VR and Simulations.
Why Prodtex? I have worked for a lot a companies over the years, some better than others, but Prodtex is the best! We have a very supportive team where we collaborate and share our knowledge to help push the company forward. We also have a great community and often have social events, like Crazy Golf, Bowling or Shuffleboard which are always lots of fun.
Skillset: CAD packages used CADDS5, CATIA V4,V5 & 3D Experience, Fusion 360
What are your goals at Prodtex? To increase my knowledge of DELMIA within 3D Experience and to Explore the use of 3D printing in future manufacturing.
